Many Thanks, Some Trivia, & A Freebie!

Wow - you guys are fantastic! Thanks to all of your who left me comments; you guys rock! It was so nice to hear from all of you, whether here, by pm, or email. I have to say I was a bit over-whelmed, I never thought I'd be so well received! LOL I sure hope I live up to the expectations! *smile*
Since right now my life isn't all that exciting ... here's some trivia. Did you know that today, in 1775, the official US postal system was established by the Second Continental Congress. Benjamin Franklin was installed as it's first Postmaster General. He held the job until he was sent to France a year later as a diplomat. Ohhhhh, and today is also Mick Jagger's birthday! He's 64 - kinda hard to imagine that one! Now you've learned your something new for the day! Don't you feel good? lol
As many of you know, I love overlays and textures. I try to create layouts as realistic as possible, hence the texture. Quite a few times I've created a layout with a kit that was less than appealing, but by adding textures and overlays turned into something special! It's amazing everything that you can do with an overlay - try playing with the blend modes and see for yourself all the different "flavors" you can achieve. Also, don't forget to add layers of overlays for different looks. OH, and add some color ... well, you get the idea! I'm no where near an "expert" but I've learned so much just by playing around. After all, what can go wrong? Delete and start over!! (Just remember to always make a copy of your original and work on that one!)
I created three lightly grungy-scratchy overlays that I'm sharing with you all today. They are 12 x 12 and 300 dpi. I'm not sure how long I'll keep them up, but at least until July 31st. Are you curious to what they look like? LOL Here they are:
