It's been FOREVER since I last posted - I'm still overwhelmed by everything that has transpired these last couple of months. Most of all of you know that I'd been sick and in & out of the hospital a couple of times - after being released the last time I got news that my late husband's father (whom I consider still as my dad) was very ill and not expected to make it thru the weekend. I immediately got a plane ticket and took off for Nebraska. He was very ill and he did indeed pass - he waited for me it seemed. It was a relief really to know that he was no longer in pain. I know that he's now with Jeff (my late husband) and maybe shooting bows & arrows together again:)
Janet (Jeff's mom & basically mine too!) would have been all alone if I left her there - so I decided that she would be happiest if she came out to Virginia Beach to live close to us. Mike (my husband) has been a true star and arranged for an apartment, utilities, etc. while I arranged for estate sales and moving. Since returning home, I've been shopping for furniture and setting up her apartment. She's adjusting remarkably well and seems to really love her new home. If was pretty hard on her to leave her home of 45 years - but she's been a real trooper.
Needless to say, I've been super busy since returning home Tuesday - and will probably stay that way for a week or so. Most likely I won't be on the computer very much yet ... however I did start checking my email today and have started the process of responding! *grin*
I really want to thank everyone for the show of concern, support, & sympathy - you have just no idea how much it meant to me to receive all those lovely emails. I'm very humbled to have had so many of you praying and thinking of me and my family.
Health wise, the doctors seem to have found the correct combination of drugs to keep from getting sick and ending up in the hospital. It *seems* that it should be clear sailing from here on out. I had almost forgotten how nice it is to NOT to be sick!
I suppose I should head out now - Janet is getting her first delivery of furniture today. Mike set up her TV (she's never had cable before!) and her brand new computer (with high speed - another first!) yesterday - so she's got lots of new adventures ahead of her.
Promise - I will be back soon! You all take care!!
Hugs,
Babette
